Kabaddi World Cup
The World Kabaddi Cup (KWC) is an international outdoor traditional kabaddi tournament that is run through the International Kabaddi Federation (IKF) which is contested by both men’s and women’s national teams. The tournament was previously held in 2004 and 2007 and in 2016. The tournaments have all taken the title of India. India beat Iran by 38-29 in the final game of the championship game , to win the title for 2016.
Following the creation of a new kabaddi association called the World Kabaddi Federation, a 2019 Kabaddi World Cup was held in April of 2019 in Malacca, Malaysia. It was the biggest world tournament in the history of kabaddi, comprising 32 teams of men and 24 women’s teams.
Asian Games
Kabaddi was used as a demonstration sport during the First Asian Games in 1951 The event was repeated in 1982, but it was made an event that was medal-worthy for the first time in the year 1990.
It was the Indian national team has won every kabaddi women and men’s competition at the Asian Games from 2002 through 2014. In in the year 2018 Asian Games, Iran became the first nation other than India to be awarded gold medals in kabaddi the Indian men’s team taking home bronze and the women’s team losing to Iran to take silver.
